Hi all.
I am busy finalising the arrangements for the Parys River rafting weekend. We will be leaving on Friday the 9th of February. We need to be at Hadeda Creek just outside Parys (follow the signs) on Saturday morning at 09:00 for our briefing, and will get into the rafts at about 09:30. So, if you want to leave the Saturday morning thats fine, the rest of us will be at Hadeda Creek at nine. It is approximately 160kms to Parys.
We will most likely be staying at a place called Rocky Ridge. It is next to our venue and on the riverbank. I am not sure of the tariffs of the accommodation, but will post it as soon as I have finalised the negotiations. (Sounds like government....) There are bungalows and stands for the adventurers umogst us! (GS guys camping is compulsary ;D ;D ;D) If you don't want to join us at the venue, go to www.parysinfo.co.za and book somewhere nice for yourself to stay...
The river rafting is very enjoyable, and not very difficult so don't worry you won't drown! Ladies, we need you to come along and enjoy with your hubby's, boyfriends etc. There are only 2man rafts, so bring your partner along. We could have breakfast at Hadeda creek, but they will need to know how many people they need to cater for, so please if you are going and want breakfast, email me your name and for how many you need breakfast.
Now, the cost involved in the river rafting is approximately R240pp and that includes a lunch on the river. This is for about a 4hour paddle. (You won't get tired, bring your partner along....) The rapids are rated according to some international standard out of five, a three and some 2's (out of five). Not difficult at all, just great fun!
Saturday evening we will be going into Parys to a very nice restaurant/pub to have dinner at your own leisure. Sunday morning we will hit the road at about 09:00 and the GS guys will take the scenic road home, while Dave Swart will lead the roadies.
This weekend will be a lot of fun so please, if you want to come, email met at: rupert@ar-architects.co.za
If I left out any other crucial info, use the forum...
