Its getting close now and bookings need to be made but before I can do that I need a good idea of the numbers. Please use this forum or send me an E Mail as soon as possible if you are interested in joining us. Indicate also if you prefer camping or self catering, if you have a pillion or no pillion and road only or if you can do any GS type riding. Please treat this as urgent so I can start finalizing everything. Even if your name is on the list please update it and I will refresh the list. For all that are concerned about offroad/technical riding there is only one day planned for playing in the Pans but it is not compulsory there will be pillions staying at the camp for that day. Thanks Colin

Hi Collin I (we) are interested in this trip (self catering, 1 pillion(?), R1200GS or K1200 GT). Would prefer the GT, but if there is sand I will take the GS. I am not too experience in Sand and I am not interested in "learning it the hard way", if you know what I mean. Best wishes Josef

Josef I suggest you rough it on the GS if you have a choice as I cannot tell you how much sand road is involved but rather cover yourself.

Colin you can put my name on the list - we are busy to get all the ducks in a row. We = me + the bank manager + the owner of the salt mine + the mother of four of my kids.

The trip has come together nicely, we have a great group of people 19 in all going along. Some minor adjustments had to be made to the trip but it remains very much the same, the biggest difference is that we are now going north of the Pans instead of down the west of them. By coincidence we will now be spending a night at Gweta with 25 of the Central BMW riders also on a Botswana trip, sounds like a party. Andre Henricos wife Shani has offered to do the backup vehicle thanks Shani. Exactly one month to go really looking forward to it now.

The trip is starting to look very good and interesting. Is that the final spelling for our backup lady's name???

2 days to go... I can't wait! I have my camping gear sorted out . . . although I have my doubts about the 'Self inflating mattress'. Is it good enough for an old tired body after hours on the bike? At least it's small and lightweight .. (Maybe I should sneak a stretcher in on the backup vehicle.) Shadi won't tell.
