The International community "BMW-K.COM" is staging a global event with the intention to get BMW riders of K-series bikes to participate around the world in a rally/gathering/run on the same date. On Sunday, June 24, 2007, members from all parts of the world, will link globally, but meet locally to celebrate their fine machines, the BMW-K.COM community and to foster friendship and camaraderie that they have on their forum. The idea is that on Sunday, June 24, 2007, all members and visitors meet around the world, share a meal, a ride and take a souvenir group shot with the bikes. Since it's truly an international community, with members in as diverse places as Malta, UAE and of course South Africa, needless to say most countries in the EU, Turkey, Russia, Far East, Israel and the Americas, OZ and Kiwiland, meets can be started as small as 5-10-20 riders in different parts of the world. It's about the camaraderie and not the number of bikes. So mark your calendars for Sunday, June 24, 2007, BMW-K.COM First Annual Summer (winter for us here in SA) Solstice Global Rally. I think this one will really be a blast For participation and to voice your opinion please visit www.bmwk1200s.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=5627

Sounds like fun.
Pity this wasn't while I was a proud K1200S owner.
Can I come along with the 1200GS Adventure as a support vehicle ?

This date must be posted earlier - does it take place every year on the same date - would like to make it part of the clubs annual calender - See there is a link on your initial posting - will contact the organisers and get the annual update so that this can possibly placed on the clubs calender. This date must be posted earlier - does it take place every year on the same date - would like to make it part of the clubs annual calender - See there is a link on your initial posting - will contact the organisers and get the annual update so that this can possibly placed on the clubs calender. LeRoy 3 Months notice was given here and still only 1 member of the club participated The date was made known on the international forum on 26 March 2007 and posted here on 27 March 2007 No it's not necessary on the same date each year. The next event will be held on 23 September 2007 - a date which was decided on after much deliberation by the moderators of the forum bearing in mind the hole world's climate, holiday seasons etc. must be taken into account.....which is almost impossible. The said date was made known on 29 June 2007 The international community - in this case BMW-K.COM sets the date and then it's up to individuals (you and me, any member of the forum for that matter) to organise something in their respective countries. I did not feel it was appropriate to request this to be part of the club's official calendar as the event was only for K-series bikes which would exclude the majority of club members. Hoping you (and many more members) will join the next event once somebody steps up to organise it.
