This topic is in no way to slander or criticise, but merely to make everyone aware of the BMW Boxer bikes, and what a wonderful history backs it up. Way back in the days where creature comforts were non existant , three guys started producing a motorcycle, and today that same company is celebrating it's 2 millionth bike produced. That first bike was a boxer engine, which became the most trusted and respected steed for many years. It proved itself on the battlefields, on many fronts and under extreme conditions, whether it was the weather or the terrain. From the harsh Steppes of Russia to the blistering heat and dusty air of the desert, these machines proved their worth. Sadly there is a rumour that the boxer engine is to be discontinued, which , and I must emphasis that this is in no way to question the judgement or decision of the powers that be, but in one's personal opinion ,is sacriledge to those Great men who originally developed the engine, and the soul and spirit of the emblem, will wither and die. These machines ,is a great tribute to those men, who under dire economic conditions , managed to keep their dream alive. The Company BMW is not just a company, but a living breathing entity, with a tremendous following throughout the world, because it represents that indomable spirit of the human being to succeed irrespective of adversity. In conclusion, if and I very much hope that this rumour is unsound, that this decision would be given very careful consideration and after and forethought, to the great founders of this Company.
