The 3 Dams Run is always a very pleasant ride but something that really spoils this ride is the 1 hour that it takes to get through the city.
This is a waste of time and ride organisers for future rides heading West should start looking for routes that will take the group around the city even if it means using the toll road as far as Rosslyn.
There might now be an uproar about using a toll road, but we ride motorcycles costing upwards of R100 000 and a R6 toll fee will not bankrupt anyone. I for one would rather pay the toll fee than put up with the hazzle of going through the city.

We were not part of the trip so I have nothing to add except thanks for the pics.
I do however support the principle of getting out of the City as soon as possible even if it means going through a toll gate.
Road conditions also play a part in route planning and again I'm not criticizing. Have found in the past that certain bikes were barely aware of a super bumpy road whilst me, with a very sporty suspension struggled even on the most comfortable suspension setting. If such a road is selected just to bypass a toll gate, my vote would go to the toll gate........just an opinion
