I have already booked, but am looking for someone to share with. The SINGLE rates are almost R1000 more !
Anyone who would like to share with a non-smoker and non-snorer, please let me know.

This trip sounds interesting BUT this will be a R10 000-R12 000 trip for you and your pillion.
I will have to pass up on this one.
I believe the club should organise something like this instead of relying on a tour group to do it for you. This will make it accessible for more people.

Wouldn't be much different in price if the club did it. Last year about May I checked on the prices to put a bike on the train to Cape Town - R1 000.00 each way. Then still each persons train cost both ways and hotel accommodation in Cape Town.
Not going to come out much better than the tour price. They obviusly get 'bulk' discounts because of the amount of use they make of the train and hotel facilities.

Dani - fail to see the dilema that you refer to - personally speaking I would think that the 29 mountain passes should be the deal breaker. LeRoy

Renier - might be more fun, but the train trip is a variation on the normal way of doing it. And added to that, one cannot lose track of the 29 mountain passes and 3&4 star accommodation that we will be staying in, in CT. Regard and safe riding. LeRoy

Well. Why not just ride the bike down then ;D. More fun Been there, done that a number of times - the worst is the last day ride home!! Would also add at least four days to the trip - if you are prepared for two days long, hard ridng there and back. Takes the fun out of it. Bit of a difference to 'kuier' on the train for a night down and back. Not many people get the chance these days to exerience sleeping on a train and the scenery along the route is also good - not seen from the road in most cases!
