Our System 5 helmets are connected via the Baehr system. We have also added the cellphone system.
Since then we have also purchased new helmets: An Arai for me and a Shoei for Ina. We decided to fit them with the Cardio Bluetooth system. We have just been to Vanderbijlpark with our new Bluetooth system.
The cell phone connection works much better that the Baehr. It has the ability for the rider to patch in the pillion so that they can join the conversation. In the Baehr system the pillion can hear but not participate. The bluetooth also makes it possible for me to reject a phone call or answer when I am ready. In the case of the Baehr the system answers after a few rings whether you like it or not.
But the communication part of the bluetooth is not as clear as the cellphone connection. It is difficult for me to understand what Ina is saying due to the distortion.
I contacted the distributers and have had wonderful response from Pauli. He swopped our system. The sound is better but for some reason it just does not want to pair again. As soon as a new batch arives, Pauli will replace our system.
We are excited about the bluetooth connection due to the "no strings attached" issue. Now I can get on the bike and off it without getting entangled in the wires.
The other nice thing about the Bluetooth system is that it warns you when it is going to shut down the connection by giving two beeps. You then have the opportunity to speak loud (which I really don't like) or just press the button on the device and the communication is established. As a matter of fact, you can set it that it NEVER stops the connection. I really love the design of this system!!
