It was not raining as we expected, but quite chilly. We decided to have breakfast at the Petroport before leaving for the Centurion Mall (Did not know it was also called the Bayside Mall). First it was time to register and get a cloth and metal badge. Raffle tickets for a Mango flight was also for sale at R10 a ticket. Getting ready to leave for Centurion The we left for Centurion. Andre (from the CMA) said that he would lead the procession as Kawasaki always leads the way, but I think he wanted to make sure that there would be at least one BMW behind him to make sure the Kawasaki actually gets to Centurion. We arrived at Centurion with all eyes on the motorcycles. The only critisism I have is that I honestly do not think that anybody in that mall (except us) knew what we were doing there. There was one advertisement of the Ulysses Club but no poster, banner etc. explaining that we were doing it to collect blankets for the needy. It is not because of the recognition that this is important, but it would have been so much easier to get more people involved in donating blankets if the whole mall knew what we were up to. All in all it was a superbly well organized event and I need to congratulate the CMA and Ulysses for putting it together. Well done Andre and Blackie.
